This retrofit device stops hair and other drain clogging items before they become problems in the pipes; if the drain rate slows or stops after a bath or shower, simply push the stopper closed which will shred the item causing the problem, and a normal drain rate resumes upon pulling open. For heavy blockage (e.g., bits of sponge that accidental ly became part of my test), it may require an additional close/open cycle to fully clear the debris: 1) Easy installation - threads into place of old stopper and comes with 3 threaded mounting adapters 2) Solid, positive feel for opening/closing - seals ti ght 3) Large knob for easier grip during opening 4) No perceptible slowing of tub drain rate with debris free water I w ould recommend this product.
