I live in the low deserts in AZ, where you would not figure you need pipe protection from the cold but guess again. I have 10 acres and many of the waterlines we ran on the property are PVC It does drop to freezing and below a number of days and on many occasions, cold enough that the water freezes inside the pipes causing them to burst. Trust me, it is not anything you want to deal with in the cold. I have a number of these covers in assorted sizes and use the to cover any expo sed plumbing. I also wrap the pipes with an insulated wrap that are below these covers. Since I have started using these I have experienced zero issues! That makes me a very happy buyer. At the end of the season I store them in a box for the next year. Wel l worth the purchase and way cheaper than replacing the plumbing ing, faucets, or valves.
