    Like a lot of other people I had the very same issue. Sometimes the stopper would get depressed all the way, and then I had to use a plunger about 50-100 times before popping it out.For a couple of months I did not even use a stopper because it was just not worth it. I finally decided to email the customer service of the product to explain my problem. They sent me a different style of rod (non-magnetic) that was perfect. Even though I would not recommend this product the company is excellent because of the customer service. I now have a working stopper.
